The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified a woman found dead Sunday evening inside a house that caught fire in the northeast Las Vegas Valley.

Alice Kiyo Kitahara-Sepcic, 50, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner hasn't determined her official cause and manner of death.

Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said firefighters responded about 5:20 p.m. to reports of a fire at the two-story home at 1795 Mt. Hood St. That location is near Mt. Hood's intersection with East Lake Mead Boulevard.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home, Kulin said. The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes.

Kitahara-Sepcic, who lived at the home with her step-daughter and the step-daughter's two children, was alone at the time of the fire.

Damage to the house was estimated at $50,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation. A cat was killed in the fire, but firefighters rescued two dogs.
