Italian festival comes to Sahara West Library

"Live the beautiful life" -- that's the English translation of Viva la Vita Bella, a daylong celebration of all things Italian at Sahara West Library on Saturday.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. in the library's multipurpose room. Admission is free.

Richie D and the Hi-Lites, Nathan Brian Wine, Franco and Ivana Valerani, and Girasole will offer some Italian melodies to the crowd. Children's activities -- face painting, trivia games and arts and crafts -- will be ongoing through the afternoon, the library said in a news release.

Vendors such as DiBartola Designs, Gerry Hackney and Little Bits will have homemade jewelry and crafts for sale. The Siena Deli Market and Bakery will be serving pizza and Sicilian sandwiches, and Italian cookbooks will also be available.

Guests can also enter for a chance to win a family four-pack to ride the gondolas at the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, and vendors will be giving away door prizes throughout the festival.

The Sahara West Library is located at 9600 W. Sahara Ave. For more information, call 702-507-3630.
