Henderson Police said a 7-year-old girl who went missing Saturday morning was found this afternoon shortly after an Amber Alert was issued.

Kayley Proctor went missing from her home at the Allegro Apartments, 951 Las Palmas Entrada Ave., in Henderson. She was last seen at her father's apartment about 4 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police said an Amber Alert was issued for Proctor about 2 p.m. Saturday and Henderson Police issued a media release about 3:30 p.m. regarding the incident. About 15 minutes later, police said the girl was recovered in Barstow, Calif.

She is in the custody of Barstow Police, and Henderson authorities were en route to that city to begin an investigation. Other details weren't immediately available.

Police had said a man who was staying in the girl's father's apartment, Matthew Hayward, 29, might be with Proctor.

Police described Hayward as black and about 6-feet tall and 180 pounds with a medium build with brown eyes, curly black hair, a goatee and earrings in both ears. Hayward also has multiple tattoos on his arms and hands, police said. It wasn't immediately known if he was with the girl or what his involvement might have been.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Henderson Police Department at (702) 267-5000 and press option 1.
