Metro Police’s First Tuesday presentation to focus on 911 calls

Officials from Metro Police's communications bureau will discuss how they handle the large volume of 911 calls they receive — almost a million per year — at the next First Tuesday event.

April's First Tuesday program starts at 7 p.m. April 5 at all Metro area commands. Speakers will discuss the differences between 911 and 311 calls, dispatching, training and accreditation during the presentation.

First Tuesday programs, which are open to the public, feature a themed presentation or discussion each month, followed by the opportunity for citizens to learn more about their neighborhoods and meet their police officers.

Anyone seeking additional information should call Metro's public information office at 702-828-4082.
