Metro Police are investigating a collision today involving a double-decker Regional Transportation Commission bus and a semi-tractor trailer in the eastern valley that sent passengers to the hospital with minor injuries.

The bus, traveling Route 107 about 11 a.m., was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway south of Indios Avenue in the bus travel lane when it collided with the truck.

The driver of the bus told police the truck driver cut in front of her but police were still investigating the cause of the accident.

The vehicles sustained minor damage and Valerie Michael, spokeswoman for Veolia Transportation, said seven people on the bus, including the driver, were taken to a hospital with no visible injuries. Veolia Transportation operates and manages the RTC buses.

Police said there were no road closures. Veolia Transportation is also investigating the accident, Michael said.
