Updated Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 | 5:25 p.m.

Metro Police are working to reach a body that was found in the McCullough Mountains south of Henderson.

Police received a call at 2:11 p.m. today that the body of a man dressed in a white shirt and blue shorts was found, police spokesman Marcus Martin said.

Officers on the ground are traveling to the scene and are receiving directions from an air unit as they navigate the terrain, Martin said.

Wildlife biologists first discovered the body at 12:41 p.m. today, said Doug Nielsen of the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

The biologists were conducting an aerial survey of the area for desert bighorn sheep when they spotted the body, Nielsen said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will rule on the manner and cause of death.
