Fiscal analyst appointed to help review Nevada budget

CARSON CITY — The former administrator of the state Employment Security Division has been named to help the Assembly Ways and Means Committee analyze the state’s proposed 2013-15 budget.

The Legislative Commission on Monday unanimously approved the appointment of Cynthia Jones as fiscal analyst for the committee that will join with the Senate Finance Committee in drafting the upcoming state budget.

Jones, an employee in state government for more than 21 years, was deputy director of the state Department of Administration, which shapes the governor’s budget. Prior to that, she was administrator of the Employment Security Division from 2004 to 2011.

She succeeds Rick Combs, who was named director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau.
