A North Las Vegas family was taken to the hospital for minor burns and smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at their home Saturday afternoon, according to North Las Vegas firefighters.

At about 12:50 p.m., the North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to 1300 Flower Avenue to a call that a single-story home was on fire.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to a converted garage in the home and were able to control it in 10 minutes.

One adult in the home suffered minor burns and two minors suffered possible smoke inhalation. The three were transported to University Medical Center’s burn unit.

Firefighters say it is unclear as to what started the fire and it is under investigation.
