Minority leader: Odds long to undo health care law

Mitch McConnell

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

It's on his to-do list, but U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the odds are against lawmakers wanting to gut the health care law championed by President Barack Obama.

The Kentucky Republican talked about the law on Monday to about 50 people at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

WHAS-TV (http://bit.ly/LSUtqX ) reports that McConnell says it's hard to unravel something of the magnitude of the health care law. As a result, the odds are on the side of people who think it's a good idea.

He says it's much harder to undo something than to stop it in the first place.

The Supreme Court last week upheld the law's mandate that individuals buy health insurance or face a penalty.
