Fire causes $40,000 damage to central valley house

A house fire this morning in the central valley caused about $40,000 in damage, a Clark County Fire Department official said.

The fire was reported at 5:31 a.m. at a two-story house at 3740 Grandview Place, near South Pecos Road and East Tropicana Avenue.

Firefighters contained the fire to one room, which appeared to be a bedroom space, said Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin. The fire was contained by 5:50 a.m., he said.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Kulin said.
