Letter to the editor:

Media outlets spin news for ratings

America’s political divide is scary.

The craziest divide is between the hard left and the hard right.

With the unemployment crisis, the lack of bank regulations and retirement benefit losses, the middle class has fallen way below the norm.

This is their reason to be angry and disenchanted.

The middle class’ struggles are being quashed by billionaires’ political contributions that keep alive the status quo of making the rich richer.

Take, for instance, Fox News. Its leading commentator is Sean Hannity, a millionaire who twists facts and persuades his gullible middle-class listeners to believe him. Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox along with the world’s largest media conglomerate, appears to be telling the Republican Party how to run its campaign.

Is this the billionaire who we are supposed to adhere to?

Is this what our veterans sacrificed life and limb for?

Is this what America stands for?

The independent voters appear to change their mind by the way the news media present the issue of the day. The goal of the media is ratings and it appears rather than presenting facts, they will spin issues to create as much confusion and controversy as possible.

We need a wake-up call!
