An early fire in the northeast valley resulted in $45,000 in damages to a vacant home, according to Tim Szymanski, spokesman for Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

Firefighters responded at 3:36 a.m. to 633 N. 22nd St., near Bonanza Road and Eastern Avenue. They found heavy flames and smoke working its way from outside the home into the one-story house through a window.

The fire was extinguished in less than 10 minutes, Szymanski said. The home appeared to be under renovation at the time and utilities were still connected to the house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
