Coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in wreck

A motorcyclist killed Thursday afternoon after crashing into a car has been identified as 21-year-old Travis James Falder, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Metro Police said Falder, of Las Vegas, was riding a motorcycle north on Fort Apache Road about 4:40 p.m. Thursday when he struck a Honda sedan near Lake South Drive. The elderly couple in the Honda had been attempting to turn left onto Lake South Drive, police said.

The collision ejected Falder from the motorcycle, police said. An elderly woman in the Honda was transported to University Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The Honda’s driver was not injured, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw the motorcyclist popping wheelies and speeding shortly before the collision. Police said their preliminary investigation indicates speed may have been the cause of the accident.
