Three pets die in house fire

Pets die in fire

Three small pets died from smoke inhalation in a house fire Friday in the western valley, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials said.

Officials said firefighters received a call around 3:40 p.m. Friday notifying them of smoke and flames emanating from the house at 429 Warmside Drive, near Rainbow Boulevard and Alta Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly put out the kitchen fire, officials said. The smoke, however, had worked its way into another room where the pets were and killed them, officials said. Tim Syzmanski, fire spokesman, said he was unable at this time to specify the type of pets that died.

No one was home at the time of the fire, which continues under investigation, he said.
