No one injured in morning house fire in Henderson

Henderson house fire

A fire caused $22,000 in damage to a home in the southeast valley Sunday morning, the Henderson Fire Department said.

About 4:49 a.m., Henderson firefighters responded to the fire on Nebraska Avenue, near Boulder Highway and Basic Road.

A neighbor had called 911 and alerted the home’s occupants and the family next door, officials said.

Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the backyard, with two sheds and two vehicles engulfed in flames. The fire also spread to the attic of a neighboring house.

Within five minutes, the fire was under control.

The fire displaced six adults and three children. The American Red Cross is assisting them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
