North Las Vegas Police have released the names of the two officers who were shot at during a domestic disturbance call Monday night near Centennial Parkway and Clayton Street.

Officers Dwight Kuykendall and Loran McAlister, both 36, were fired at when responding to an incident at a residence in the 6300 block of Silver Edge Street, police said.

Kuykendall was shot and sustained wounds from his face down to his lower legs, police said.

Four officers, including Kuykendall and McAlister, had responded to the call, police said.

An injured Kuykendall and fellow officer McAlister returned fire, police said.

Christopher Burcham, 25, was arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.

Burcham was booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center and faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

Kuykendall, an eight-year veteran of the department, was released from the hospital Wednesday night, police said. Both officers remain on paid administrative leave, a standard procedure in officer involved shootings.
