Thunderstorm shakes Las Vegas Valley

Lightning danced in the Las Vegas sky on Monday evening as thunder boomed, setting off car alarms in the southern valley.

A low-pressure system moving in from Utah passed over the valley, bringing thunder and lightning, but little to no rain, said Jim Harrison, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

No significant rain is predicted, but some sprinkles could be felt, Harrison said.

The thunderstorm is expected to last until midnight Monday, Harrison said.
