Metro Police are looking for a man suspected of attempting to rob a northwest valley business, May 8, 2012.

Metro Police are asking the public’s help in solving two attempted robberies Sunday, where suspects were armed.

One incident happened at a northwest valley business where a man holding a gun approached a clerk and demanded money, police said.

According to police, a customer unaware that a robbery was taking place unknowingly scared the suspect away.

From that incident, police are looking for a white man with sandy blond hair, between the ages of 24 and 34. He is described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds.

The suspect is believed to frequent the area of Jones Boulevard and Smoke Ranch Road, police said.

Another attempted robbery that day happened at a southwest valley restaurant, concealing his face as he approached the business holding a gun, police said.

Employees of the restaurant had seen the man and had locked the doors before he could enter, police said.

According to police, the man had been seen waiting by an electrical box before the attempted robbery and left the scene in a dark SUV.

Anyone with information on either of these incidents can call Metro’s robbery section at 828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 to remain anonymous.
