Metro Police are asking the public’s assistant in identifying a suspect who shot a man early Thursday at a 7-Eleven during an attempted robbery.
Officers were called to the convenience store near Swenson Street and Desert Inn Road at 1:12 a.m. to investigate reports of a man being shot, police said.
The man was walking toward the front door of the 7-Eleven on the 900 block of Sierra Vista Drive when the suspect approached, fired at him and fled, police said.
The man suffering from a gunshot wound was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man with a medium building who stands between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6-1.
He was last seen wearing dark blue clothing and a blue L.A. Dodgers baseball cap, police said.
Anyone with any information or anyone who was in the area at the time can contact the Metro’s homicide section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 to remain anonymous.
