Firefighters battled a blaze Sunday in a house believed to have been occupied by homeless people.

The Clark County Fire Department arrived at the home around 9:23 a.m. near Nellis and Charleston boulevards, county officials said.

Firefighters arrived to find flames engulfing the single-story house, near the intersection of Frank Street and Mohave Avenue. The blaze was extinguished in about 20 minutes, officials said.

It appears homeless people had unlawfully occupied the house, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damages. The cause is still under investigation, officials said.
