Memorial Day Weekend has become as big as New Year’s Eve in the world of Las Vegas entertainment. Clubs book the biggest DJs and celebrity hosts, the concert venues are packed with chart-topping rock stars, and top-tier comedians will bring the funny. Consult our guide and plan wisely to make sure you maximize the long weekend.

Thursday, May 24:

Grand opening party: Ranch House Kitchen at Town Square is hosting its grand opening party. Beginning at 8 p.m., guests can enjoy $3 Absolute cockstails and 50-cent Budweiser/Bud Light drafts, plus balloon and face painting for kids. The event will also feature a Lovesac-sponsored lounge on the patio, so bring the family and check out Town Square's newest venue.

Kryoman: Who doesn't want to party with a giant, light-up robot? Kryoman returns to Haze Nightclub to kick of Memorial Day Weekend.

Chuckie: Tao presents a special performance by the Dutch DJ, who brings his Dirty Dutch experience stateside for a gig at the Cosmopolitan's nightclub.

Don Omar: Reggaeton sensation Don Omar performs at the Soundwaves stage at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. His debut album, The Last Don, which included hit single "Reggaeton Latino," helped popularize reggaeton in the U.S. in the early 2000s.

Daughtry: Rock band Daughtry is bringing the second leg of its Break the Spell 2012 Tour to The Joint at the Hard Rock. Fronted by American Idol standout Chris Daughtry, the band has had huge hits with songs like "Life After You" and "Home."

Afrojack: Recently named “The World’s Next Top DJ” by Mixmag, Afrojack spins at Surrender with house music specialist Sidney Samson.

Alesso: Tryst kick offs the weekend celebration early with its industry night, The Affair, featuring Swedish DJ Alesso. The young breakout DJ favors progressive house tunes.

Memorial Day Weekend entertainment: Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with “Lyve Musyc,” Rock ‘N’ Roll Brunch, “Klassic Karaoke” and food and drink specials May 24-28. Starting at 10 p.m., guests can enjoy performances by RockDaddy on Thursday and Friday, and Wolf Creek on Saturday. Those looking for an early start to the celebration can enjoy Rock ‘N’ Roll Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with local Las Vegas singers Betsy Holm on Saturday and Jeremy Cornell on Sunday. To end the holiday weekend, guests will love singing along to their favorite hits at Klassic Karaoke on Sunday and Monday at 9 p.m. Food specials all weekend include $5 appetizers, including pulled pork sliders, smoked chicken wings, grit fries, Texas nachos, fried dill pickles and spinach artichoke dip, from noon to 6 p.m., plus $4 draft beers including Lynyrd Skynyrd Lager, Coors Light, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Shinerbock, as well as $5 well drinks and house wine.

Boom!: DJ Stellar presents “Boom!” an industry Memorial Day weekend kickoff party at Liquid Pool Lounge. The event is free for locals and offers an open bar.

Mims: Moon presents a performance by rapper Mims, along with resident DJ Exodus. The musician is known for tracks like "This is Why I'm Hot" and "Move (If You Wanna)."

Memorial Day weekend drink specials: Rhumbar at the Mirage will host a three-day Memorial Day party on its Caribbean-inspired patio starting Friday. Starting at 3 p.m., DJs will spin a mix of dance and contemporary hits on the patio where guests can enjoy hookahs and cocktails, including the three citrus cooler and the tatonga, plus Rhumbar's signature red or white sangria.

Friday, May 25:

Meagan Good: Film and television actress Meagan Good from Californication and Think Like a Man will host at Gallery Nightclub, along with They Pussycat Dolls.

Nik Richie: TheDirty.com's Nik Richie, husband of actress Shayne Lamas, hosts at LAX Nightclub at Luxor. Guest should be on their best behavior or face the chance of showing up the next day on his gossip website.

DJ Scooter: The Bank at Bellagio kicks off its weekend festivities with dance music from DJ Ikon and special guest DJ Scooter. The party will be hosted by a group of hot California girls.

Cherry reopening party: If you've been longing for a west side hotspot, fret no more as Cherry Nightclub at Red Rock Resort reopens with its Summer Affair Kickoff Party. Guests with table reservations will be entered to win a Fiat 500 Sport.

A Silent Film concert and after-party: Oxford, England, quartet A Silent Film released their sophomore album Sand & Snow on Tuesday. Hear them at the Lounge at the Palms then head up to Ghostbar for their concert after-party.

Memorial Day weekend pool party: The Stratosphere presents a Memorial Day weekend pool party with DJ entertainment from noon-6 p.m. and a visit from the Malibu girls, who will be doing giveaways from 1-3 p.m. Drink specials include the Summer Sunset, Pucker Me Pink Lemonade and the Tropical Dream for $6.

Forbes Friday launch: Tabu Ultralounge at MGM Grand gets the weekend started with the launch of Forbes Friday featuring music from DJ Eric Forbes.

Memorial Day weekend golf specials: Golf Summerlin, home to Highland Falls, Palm Valley and Eagle Crest golf courses, offers golf enthusiasts a memorable deal this Memorial Day weekend at all three courses. Holly Madison: Las Vegas' favorite girl next door Holly Madison hosts the night at Chateau while Felix Da Housecat spins.

Eric Hutchinson: After touring with the likes of Joe Jackson, Jason Mraz and One Republic, Eric Hutchinson brings his solo show to Book & Stage with hits like "Ok, It's Alright With Me" and "Rock and Roll."

Memorial Day weekend pool party Local families can visit the JW Marriott’s pool to enjoy live entertainment, $6 food specials and drink specials, featuring $6 margaritas and $3 domestic beers, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The party will open and close with a DJ spinning from 5 to 6 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. Island Spice, a steel drum reggae band, will play in between.

Victor Calderone: Brooklyn-based house music DJ Victor Calderone and The Martinez Brothers headline at Wet Republic.

Memorial Day weekend food and drink specials: PBR Rock Bar & Grill inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will celebrate Memorial Day weekend by highlighting two of America’s favorite things: Barbecue and beer. In continuation of May’s celebration of National Barbeque Month, guests can enjoy a 15 percent discount on PBR Rock Bar’s BBQ selections from 3 to 6 p.m. throughout the holiday weekend, plus Budweiser beer buckets for $19.

Tiësto: The Dutch DJ begins the holiday weekend in a big way with his residency return at XS. Voted “The Greatest DJ of All Time” by Mixmag, Tiësto releases his “Club Life Volume Two Miami” this spring.

Sebastian Ingrosso: Sebastian Ingrosso of the Grammy-nominated group Swedish House Mafia spins at Encore Beach Club.

Steve Aoki and Lil Jon: Steve Aoki, Surrender Nightclub’s musical director known for his signature move — diving off the DJ booth to surf the crowd while spraying revelers with champagne — will entertain the masses along with Lil Jon.

Afrojack: Afrojack, named “The World’s Next Top DJ” by Mixmag, brings his chart toppers like “Take Over Control,” “No Beef” and “Can’t Stop Me” to Tryst.

Cassie: R&B and pop singer brings her "King of Hearts" party to Lavo when she hosts at the Palazzo hotspot.

EC Twins: Named after a successful club they once created in the U.K. (Eye Candy), the EC Twins' European dance-influenced house music and energetic performances have earned them passionate fan bases. Catch them by the pool at Tao Beach.

Trey Songz: Trey Songz, known for tracks like "Say Ahh" and "Can't Help But Wait," hosts at Tao while DJ Five provides the tunes.

Benny Benassi: Italian DJ Benny Benassi, also known as The “Electroman,” spins at Marquee Nightclub along with Dutch house DJ Fedde Le Grand.

Matt & Kim: Summer Camp Fridays at Paradise Beach at the Hard Rock present a DJ set by Matt & Kim plus Rick Rude.

The Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival was started in 1999 as a way to bring the independent music community together for an annual party. It has since grown into a three-day festival in downtown Las Vegas that brings out fans and bands from all over the world. Performers include Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, The Adicts and The Briefs, Sham 69, Hepcat, Hot Water Music, Youth Of Today, Street Dogs, Dead Ending, Street Dogs, Real McKenzies, Old Man Markley, The Beltones, Far From Finished, Toys That Kill, American Heist, Holding On To Sound, The Bots The Dips and American Werewolves. Bowling will take place at the Gold Coast and Sam's Town, and the concerts will be held in the downtown area's various music venues. Prices and hours vary per event. The Festival runs Friday through Sunday.

Rock band Incubus performs two shows over Memorial Day weekend at The Joint at the Hard Rock. Their decade-long career has churned out top hits like "Drive," "Pardon Me" and "Nice to Know You." Tickets are $65 and the show starts at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Jay Leno

Talk show host Jay Leno brings his signature blend of late-night humor and stand-up comedy to the stage of the Terry Fator theater at the Mirage. Tickets are $79-$99 and the show starts at 10 p.m.

Merle Haggard heads to Texas Station to perform his hits like "Okie from Muskogee," "The Fightin' Side Of Me" and "Mama Tried." Tickets are $40-$80 and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Saturday, May 26:

Boris: Wet Republic presents a poolside power trio of Boris, Rob Guson and Rony Seikaly spinning all day.

Nectar Music Festival: Nectar Music Festival at Paradise Beach at the Hard Rock presents DJ Kilmore of Incubus, Richard Beynon and Manuel De La Mare.

Kaskade: Catch Kaskade's Freaks of Nature Tour Live at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan. Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano will be opening the show.

DJ Fingaz: DJ Fingaz, known for his raw hip-hop, smooth R&B and classic '80s tunes will headline at Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock.

Frank Mir’s after-fight party: Producer and DJ Chris Cox will take to the turntables at Gallery Nightclub inside Planet Hollywood as Frank Mir hosts his UFC 146 after-fight party.

Dave Aude: Grammy-nominated remixer/producer and DJ Dave Audé and singer Wynter Gordon perform together at Krave, along with DJ Lightknife.

JoJo: Pop singer JoJo performs her hits “Sexy To Me” and “Disaster,” along with music from resident DJ Michael Graves and DJ Mikey Francis.

Ice-T and Coco: Ice Loves Coco stars Ice-T and Coco Austin will host the party at LAX. Everybody will be lining up to see what Coco, known for her Thong Thursday Twitpics, will wear.

Benny Benassi: Grammy Award-winning Italian DJ and producer Benny Benassi spins his blend of electro house at Tao Beach.

T&T offers their signature mariachi brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday featuring items like traditional huevos rancheros, albondigas soup, T&T’s signature chilaquiles and breakfast burritos. Drink specials include two-for-one Bloody Marias and top-shelf house margaritas, in addition to half-price daiquiri refills, $10 Dos Equis beer mugs and Patrón shot specials. Skrillex: Fresh off three Grammy wins, Skrillex brings his dubstep and electro house music to Tryst Nightclub at Wynn.

Steve Angello: XS will show that size really does matter when Steve Angello brings his Size Matters party to the club along with AN21 and Max Vangeli, voted two of the “Top 5 DJs to Watch” in 2011 by DJ Mag.

Summer of Fun Kick-Off Festival and Car Show: KOOL Radio’s Summer of Fun Kick-Off Festival and Car Show at the Cannery presents music from the 1960s and '70s, including Shades of Blue, The Dixie Cups, Gary Lewis & The Playboys and The Buckinghams. Along with the music, members of the Mustang & Classic Ford Club of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Cruisin’ Association will park several hundred of their classic cars along Aerojet Way, directly south of the Cannery.

Fabolous: Fabolous will be performing live at Haze Nightclub at Aria. The Brooklyn-based rapper is known for hit singles like "Can't Deny It," "Can't Let You Go" and "My Time."

Crystal Harris: Bare Pool welcomes Playboy Playmate/DJ Crystal Harris for a guest spin with nine of her Playmate friends.

Stylist competition: Revolution's Boutique Fashion Fling presents a stylist competition pitting salons against one another along with plenty of product giveaways while DJ G Minor spins.

Catch The Cult at the M Resort Outdoor Entertainment Piazza. The UK post-punk band rose through the ranks of the indie music world to achieve global status. Join them Memorial Day weekend as they play many of their classics and introduce you to their newest album, “Choice of Weapon,” which was released Tuesday. Tickets are $45, and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Mary Poppins is bringing its own brand of Broadway magic to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. You won't need a spoonful of sugar to get this down — the top-notch singing and dancing will put a smile on the faces of guests of all ages. Tickets are $24-$129 and the show runs at 7:30 p.m. through Sunday. There also are 2 p.m. showings on May Saturday and Sunday.

The Fremont Street Experience returns with its free summer concert series Rock of Vegas with an entertainment lineup of legendary rock ‘n’ rollers from the 1980s. The free concert series in Downtown Las Vegas will kick off Memorial Day weekend with Vince Neil, legendary singer of Mötley Crüe. The show starts at 9 p.m.

UFC heavyweight fighter Frank Mir laughs during a workout at his gym Friday, September 17, 2010. Mir will fight Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic in the main event of UFC 119 in Indianapolis.

UFC 146 at MGM Grand Garden Arena features an all-heavyweight main card featuring five fighters ranked in the top 10 in their weight class. After Alistair Overeem failed a drug test, local fighter Frank Mir stepped in to take on Junior Dos Santos for the heavyweight belt. Tickets range from $75-$800, and doors open at 3:45 p.m.

J Lo: Following the Q'Viva concert at Mandalay Bay, Jennifer Lopez heads over to Hyde for her after-party.

Memorial Weekend Beach Party: Hooters Casino-Hotel presents this beachy bash both Saturday and Sunday, inviting party goers to partake in beer pong, drink specials and more.

Sunday, May 27:

Redman: Rapper Redman, known for tracks like "Whateva Man" and "It's Like That (My Big Brother)," hosts at LAX.

Ne-Yo: Rehab Sundays, the granddaddy of all pool parties, features a performance by pop and R&B singer-songwriter and Las Vegas local Ne-Yo, plus music from DJ Vice and Eric D-Lux.

Sky Blu: Redfoo isn’t the only LMFAO-er with a Strip residency, as Sky Blu returns with his own residency at Wet Republic.

Nelly: You'll be saying it's getting "Hot in Herre" at Haze when rap superstar Nelly packs the dance floor at Mirage's nightclub 1 Oak.

Tacos & Tequila Festival of Las Vegas: Sample tacos from valley restaurants and pair them with your favorite tequilas, all while soaking up some sun lakeside. Sign up for the event's taco eating contest by calling 533-2100.

Akon: Senegalese-American hip hop and R&B singer-songwriter and rapper Akon will be performing some of his popular hits like "Locked Up" and "Smack That" at Haze.

Eric D-Lux: SKAM artist Eric D-Lux spins at The Bank at Bellagio.

Dave Aude: Grammy-nominated DJ/producer Dave Aude spins poolside at Liquid Pool at Aria.

Paul Van Dyk: German Grammy Award-winning EDM producer and DJ Paul Van Dyk spins at Tao Beach.

Erick Morillo: Colombian-American DJ and producer Erick Morillo returns to Tao for another installment of his Memorial Day weekend party. Morillo is known for spinning the best in house music in venues in NYC and Ibiza.

Childish Gambino: Actor Donald Glover doubles as rapper Childish Gambino. When he's not entertaining the masses with his writing on 30 Rock or his acting on Community, he performs songs like "Bonfire" and "Heartbeat."

Jazzy Jeff: Turntable legend DJ Jazzy Jeff spins at Moon Nightclub along with Questlove of The Roots.

Sex Panther: Sunday Scene at the Palms Pool & Bungalows welcomes champagne-spraying duo Sex Panther to spin by the pool.

Lil Jon: Tryst opens its doors for an additional evening to cap off the weekend with a special DJ set by rapper Lil Jon.

Deadmau5: Deadmau5 makes his triumphant return following his set at XS for “deadmau5 Day” in January. He'll headline at Night Swim, where guests can take an evening dip.

Calvin Harris: Calvin Harris, the Scottish DJ whose hit tracks include “Feel So Close” and the chart-topping collaboration with Rihanna, “We Found Love,” spins at Surrender.

Ginuwine: Singer and songwriter Ginuwine, famous for his hit "Pony," performs at the LVH pool.

The Beach Boys have reunited for a global 50th anniversary tour, making a stop at Red Rock Resort. Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks will tour together for the first time in more than two decades. The band, which performed together at the 2012 Grammy Awards, will also release a new studio album and commemorative 50th anniversary catalog. Tickets range from $30-$140, and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Van Halen, Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductees and one of the most influential rock bands of all time, return to Las Vegas with their 2012 North American tour at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Hits include "Panama," "Hot For Teacher" and "Right Now." Tickets are $36-$163, and doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Travie McCoy: Gym Class Heroes singer Travie McCoy hosts at Hyde. Hopefully he grabs the mic to perform a couple of his hits like "Billionaire."

Monday, May 28:

Deadmau5: Wearing his signature mau5head, hopefully with a slathering of sunscreen, Deadmau5 will spin poolside at Encore Beach Club.

David Guetta and Avicii: XS closes the holiday weekend in a big way with an event combining two of the biggest names in electronic dance music, David Guetta and Avicii. Making his XS residency debut, Guetta was recently announced as DJ Mag’s No. 1 DJ in the world. He'll spin alongside Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Avicii, who returns to the Encore hot spot with his club anthems “Levels” and “Fade into Darkness.”

Free entry to Marquee Dayclub: ATB, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano spin at a free, non-ticketed event at Marquee Dayclub to close out the long weekend.

Nicky Romero: Dutch DJ and producer Nicky Romero spins at Marquee Nightclub along with DJ Vice.

Memorial Day burger special: LBS Burger at Red Rock Resort invites burger-lovers to enjoy an all-American meal on Memorial Day. Enjoy the "Perfect Burger," along with a draft beer and a milkshake, priced at $20. The signature “Perfect Burger” features tender, all-natural beef, gruyere cheese, herb mayo, smoked bacon and oven-roasted tomato topped with red onion marmalade and LBS’ special house-made burger sauce.
