The executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada is resigning, citing personal reasons.
The ACLU issued a statement Monday saying Dane Claussen will leave the organization effective Jan. 31.
Claussen cited unspecified personal reasons.
He's been chief of the ACLU office in Las Vegas since January 2011.
Claussen says the ACLU in Nevada has accomplished a lot in almost two years, including involvement with 145 bills during the 2011 legislative session.
He also points to voter protections during early voting in the 2012 presidential election.
Board President Robert Chester says he and the other ACLU directors will now begin searching for a new executive.
