Woman dies in North Las Vegas traffic accident

Fatal accident

A woman is dead after her car was rammed Tuesday afternoon in an accident in which drug or alcohol use is suspected, North Las Vegas Police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said.

Witnesses reported that shortly after 3 p.m. a 19-year-old man driving a Dodge Durango ran a red light at Ann Road and Allen Lane, east of North Decatur Road, and collided into the driver-side door of the woman’s Camry, Coon said. The woman died on the scene.

The 19-year-old man sustained minor injuries from the accident and was being tested to determine if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash, Coon added.

The intersection is expected to be closed until 7 p.m.
