Area of attack

Metro Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who last week threatened a woman with a knife.

The attack happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road. Police said the woman was walking in the area when the suspect grabbed her from behind, held her and threatened her with a knife.

The woman struggled with her attacker before ultimately escaping with minor injuries, police said. The suspect then ran from the area.

Authorities described the suspect as a black man in his early 20s, about 6-feet tall and 170 pounds.

The victim told detectives the attacker had light brown eyes, police said. He was wearing a red do-rag; white, short-sleeved T-shirt; and Dickie-style, red shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro’s sexual assault section at 702-828-3421 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
