Former Nevada lawyer gets 15 months for false tax returns

A former Nevada attorney received 15 months in prison on Tuesday for filing fraudulent income tax returns from 2005 to 2007, Internal Revenue Service agent Shea Jones said.

Douglas Allen, 52, also provided false documents to the IRS during his civil audit and concealed his actual income and taxes from authorities, Jones said.

Allen pleaded guilty to tax evasion on May 15, and must also pay more than $87,000 in restitution.
