In his letter “Solar projects create jobs,” Kevin B. Smith lists all the good things we’ll receive from solar energy — more jobs, more tax revenue, $300 million interest on government loans (just like Solyndra, right?) — but what neither Smith, Sen. Harry Reid nor any of the other promoters of solar power will tell us is: How will it affect our monthly power bills?
I remember reading that the cost of solar power to the energy companies is four times greater than power from natural gas.
The Sun could do its readers a real service by detailing the projected cost of solar power to consumers.
