FBI arrests man in 3 Las Vegas Valley bank robberies

The FBI arrested a Las Vegas man in connection with three bank robberies on March 30 in Henderson and Las Vegas, authorities said.

Authorities had dubbed the robber the “No Rubber Bands Bandit” because in one of the holdups, he asked that no rubber bands be wrapped around the money.

The FBI arrested Marquee Munerlyn, 27, at his Las Vegas home on Monday, the agency said in news release today. He was charged with bank robbery and was being held by the U.S. Marshals Service, officials said.

According to a federal complaint, Munerlyn is accused of robbing three U.S. Banks at Smith’s grocery, 830 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson; Von’s grocery, 2667 Windmill Parkway, Henderson; and Albertson’s grocery, 7350 S. Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas.

In each case, a man passed a note to the teller demanding money, authorities said. No one was injured in any of the robberies.

The task force credited with the arrest also includes Metro and Henderson police officers.
