Firefighters battle blaze at North Las Vegas recycling plant

Firefighters were battling a blaze at a North Las Vegas recycling plant where fire has broken out three times in the last 12 months, fire department Capt. Cedric Williams said.

North Las Vegas firefighters responded about 2:50 p.m. to a fire at Secured Fibers Recycling Facility in the 4700 block of Vandenberg Drive.

They were working to prevent the fire from spreading throughout the recycled boxes, papers and plastics at the facility, Williams said.

Williams said the majority of the fire has been extinguished, but crews were still working to douse the rest of it.

The plant was evacuated and no one was injured, Williams said.
