letter to the editor:

Reform would boost economy

Immigration reform is long overdue. It would be a boost to the economy to have workers who lack proper documentation come out of the shadows and work openly and establish businesses. There will be more jobs for the unemployed; money would become available to buy homes, cars and other commodities; and the talents of many of these people could be used in all areas of our economy, not to mention the revenue that will be collected and added to the treasury.

Every phase of our government will benefit from the passing of a comprehensive immigration reform bill.
