Spate of crib deaths spurs Metro to urge adherence to safe-sleep practices with infants

With the deaths of three infants in the last week, Metro Police are reminding parents to follow safe-sleep guidelines for babies.

So far this year, 17 infants in Las Vegas have died due to unsafe sleeping environments, police said.

Authorities urge parents to follow recommendations from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, such as positioning the baby on his or her back, removing fluffy bedding from cribs and never co-sleeping with infants.
