Boy found dead

A teenage boy was found dead Friday inside his home with an apparent gunshot wound, Metro Police officials said.

Metro responded to reports of the body about 3:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of Manhattan Drive, near Vegas Drive and Simmons Street. Officers arrived to find the boy lying in a pool of blood, police said.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the teen died from a gunshot wound, police said.

Metro is investigating the boy’s death.
