Police think alcohol, speeding are factors in crash that kills passenger

Fatal crash

A 23-year-old male passenger in a car died today after the driver crashed into a wall while possibly under the influence of alcohol, Henderson Police said.

Police responded to the crash about 2:20 a.m. at Pebble Road and Carnegie Street. Arnold Cheung, 24, of Henderson, was speeding east on Pebble Road when he failed to stop or turn at a three-way intersection at Carnegie and crashed into a block wall, police said.

Cheung and the passenger were trapped in the crushed car. The passenger died at the scene. Cheung was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

Police believe alcohol and speeding caused the crash. Cheung faces a count of DUI with death if his blood-alcohol content is over the legal limit.

Henderson Police are investigating the crash.
