UNLV vs. Boise State Football

UNLV linebacker John Lotulelei celebrates a defensive stop of Boise State during their Mountain West Conference game Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at Sam Boyd Stadium. Fifth-ranked Boise State won the game 48-21.

The UNLV football program will be represented at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine at the end of February in Indianapolis.

The school announced Thursday that linebacker John Lotulelei, a first-team All-Mountain Conference selection last fall and the Rebels’ Defensive MVP, is one of 300 draft prospects invited to the four-day combine. The 5-foot-11, 235-pound Lotulelei is the first Rebel since 2010 to be invited.

He had 19 tackles against UNR and finished 2012 with 120 tackles, the 10th best tackle mark in Rebel single-season history.

The combine is a four-day job interview of sorts where executives and coaching staffs from the NFL’s 32 teams evaluate players for the spring draft.
