Michael and Jennifer Cornthwaite introduce something new downtown: their first baby

The street-level first couple of Las Vegas added a first baby to the family last week.

Amelie Blake Cornthwaite, the couple's first child, was born January 23 to the Michael and Jennifer Cornthwaite family.

Michael Cornthwaite was one of the pioneers in the Fremont East Entertainment District, which is apart from the electrified canopy-covered Fremont Street Experience. He owns or operates the Downtown Cocktail Room, Emergency Arts, The Beat coffeehouse and Oscar's Beef, Booze & Broads.

Cornthwaite is also opening another bar on the first floor of the Ogden. He's also involved in the development of a theater for speakers and lecturers at the site of a former 7-Eleven at Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard.
