51s handled at Salt Lake, 7-1

The Las Vegas 51s were defeated 7-1 Monday at Salt Lake, falling for the fourth time in five games.

The 51s managed seven hits, scoring their lone run in the third inning on a run-scoring double from Ruben Tejada.

Salt Lake scored three times in the sixth inning to take a comfortable lead, using a 15-hit attack to take the opening game of a three-game seires.

Tejada and Matt den Dekker led Las Vegas with two hits apiece.

The 51s return home to Cashman Field Thursday to take on Tucson for four games before the Triple-A all-star break. Friday, the teams play a doubleheader, allowing for the break from Sunday through July 18.
