Las Vegas Valley residents can expect a break from the sun and blue sky for the next two days as rain makes its way across the valley.
National Weather Service officials said a steady rain is expected to fall across the valley Thursday afternoon, with some areas receiving severe thunderstorms. Up to about a quarter inch of rain was predicted for Thursday.
Mount Charleston, where firefighters continue to battle a wildfire, is also expected to receive light showers throughout the afternoon, officials said. A flash flood watch has been issued for the Spring Mountains.
Rain is expected to fall on and off until Saturday, officials said.
