Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run collision with SUV

Metro Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision Tuesday night between an sport utility vehicle and a bicycle that sent the cyclist to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officers responded to the incident at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Christy Lane.

According to police, the cyclist, a 46-year-old woman from Las Vegas, was riding east on Lake Mead Boulevard and attempting to turn onto Christy Lane on a green light when a red SUV ran a red light and hit the bicycle.

The driver of the SUV left the scene eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries.
