Man turns self in to Nye County after confessing to hit-and-run on Blue Diamond Road

A 55-year-old Pahrump man turned himself in to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday confessing to a hit-and-run on Blue Diamond Road that left one man dead.

The hit-and-run occurred about 5 a.m. on Friday along Blue Diamond Road. The driver told police that he had been traveling east on Blue Diamond Road when he struck something, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said. When the driver looked to see what it was, he said he didn’t find anything and drove on.

He turned himself in after seeing news reports about the incident, Hixson said. The man’s identity has not been released.
