Who is really getting hurt here: Paula Deen with an estimated net worth of $16 million or the folks of all colors making the products at companies that will fold without her name on the endorsement because sponsors drop her?
Remember, she only gets a royalty fee; the companies and their employees will be the ones that really suffer. Do we really need more unemployed Americans?
She has apologized time and again, and who among us has not sinned and asked for forgiveness? Michael Vick is back in the NFL making millions of dollars; Chris Brown is back in the entertainment business making millions. So where is the equity here?
I hate racism just like the majority of us, but something isn’t right or equal when you look at the big picture. Remember: Sticks and stones will break your bones but words are a Constitutional right, no matter what, so long as no one is in bodily danger.
