A woman Henderson Police say was shot and killed Tuesday by her ex-husband in a murder-suicide has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Renee M. Bassett, 47, of Henderson.
Henderson Police discovered Basset shot to death in a house in the 100 block of Andada Drive, near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. Her ex-husband was found dead in his car in front of the house, police said.
Police said officers responded to a call about 5:30 p.m. from a 13-year-old boy asking for help.
The ex-husband had entered Basset’s home and the pair started arguing, police said. He then pulled out a handgun and shot the woman while the teenager was in the next room, police said.
Police said the man then went to his car and killed himself. The Coroner’s Office has not identified the man.
The couple also had an 11-year-old son who lived with the ex-husband, authorities said. Both children were unharmed and are being cared for by relatives, police said.
