Traffic snarled after truck dumps gravel on Las Vegas freeway

Gravel spill

A tractor-trailer dumped gravel over four lanes of U.S. 95 North near Lake Mead Boulevard today, causing major traffic delays as crews cleaned up the mess, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.

Three Nevada Department of Transportation sweepers have been cleaning up the spill, which happened about 11:20 a.m., Trooper Jeremie Elliott said.

Traffic was being diverted around the spill and onto the shoulder, he said.

There is no indication as to what caused the truck to dump the gravel, Elliott said.
