Even death and taxes aren't exempt from government furloughs, at least according to our readers.
The winner of the April Smithereens Cartoon Caption Contest is user BeSafest, who got 35 percent of the vote for "Ahhhhh, don't worry about that contraption, the guy that runs it is being furloughed!"
We'll send BeSafest a signed copy of the cartoon.
In second place was ImSizzlin, with 23 percent of the vote for "But that's not what I meant when I checked the 'head of household deduction!' "
Third places goes to Minister for "Oh that ... death and taxes have been consolidated as part of the sequester," which received 19 percent of the votes.
In fourth was "You can either make a lump sum or an arm and leg payment," by tctodd300, which had 13 percent of the vote.
And rounding out the top 10 was Bob Schlimgen's submission, "It's just an arm and a leg, Mr. Johnson," which got 10 percent of the votes.
