Man identified, Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas reopened after fatal crash

A man killed early this morning in a single-vehicle accident has been identified as 29-year-old Arturo Nerey of California, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

Nerey was driving a pickup truck when he lost control and was thrown from his vehicle on Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas.

The accident was reported at 3:56 a.m. on I-15 between St. Rose Parkway and Jean, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said.

Nerey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Southbound traffic in the area was temporarily diverted through Sloan. The accident was cleared and all lanes were reopened by about 8:20 a.m.
