The relationship between a 24-year-old Las Vegas area high school teacher and a 15-year-old male student involved about 1,000 cell phone text messages over an eight-day period but resulted in them kissing "only two times."

That's what it says on the declaration of arrest report for Amanda Brennan, a Foothill High School English teacher who was arrested Friday on two counts of luring a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The report also says that when Brennan was interviewed after being read her Miranda rights, she told police she did love the boy "and she knew the relationship was wrong."

So far, no formal charges have been filed against Brennan in Henderson Justice Court. The process of filing formal charges could take up to two weeks, according to a court clerk.

Brennan is free on bail and has been placed on administrative leave pending a full investigation.

Meanwhile, the arrest document provides some details about what authorities learned Thursday after the boy's parents brought their concerns to Clark County School District police.

According to the report, the parents told a police detective they first learned of the relationship Wednesday night when the boy asked if he could go to the movies with some friends his mother didn't know.

The mother then talked to the security guard at their residential area, and the guard told her Brennan's name and age.

The mother told the detective she and her husband then became "concerned that there may be something more going on."

The mother told the detective she and her husband didn't give permission to the teacher to pick up her son and didn't have any knowledge the teacher was taking her son anywhere.

They told the detective Brennan picked up the boy about 9 p.m. and then returned him home about 11:45 p.m. – past his 10 p.m. curfew.

"Brennan did contribute to the delinquency of a minor by keeping the minor out past 2200 hours (10 p.m.) on a school night," the detective wrote in the report.

The report said the boy's father brought 42 pages of cellphone records to the interview. Those records showed the boy's iPhone had numerous calls to and from Brennan's phone, the report said.

With the parents' permission, police examined the boy's iPhone. They found approximately 1,000 text messages had been exchanged between Brennan's phone and the boy's iPhone between May 1 and May 9, the detective wrote.

In an interview with the boy, detectives said they confirmed the teacher had picked him up at his house and then parked in their gated complex.

The boy "also confirmed that there was a loving relationship between him and Brennan as described in the text messages found on his cell phone," the report said. The boy "said that they loved each other, there was only two times they kissed."

One of those times was "when they were cuddling in the back seat of Brennan's four-door Toyota" on May 8, the report said.

They other time was about two weeks earlier, when they both sat in the front passenger seat of Brennan's car "and kissed each other on the lips and spooned.”
