The Henderson Fire Department battled a blaze that damaged two homes early Friday.
At about 7 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire near Ocean Avenue and Water Street.
The carport of one home and the rear section of a home next door were both on fire.
Firefighters from four fire stations responded, and the fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes, Battalion Chief Mike Gibson said.
The home where the carport caught fire was occupied, but the residents will be able to stay at the house, Gibson said. The other home was vacant.
Gibson said investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
