The dream season will go on for another week.

Faith Lutheran greeted its first home playoff game in several years with a sledgehammer, smashing Boulder City to pieces in a 62-7 victory.

“It’s a big deal at the school and we’re going to keep enjoying it,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said. “It’s the first playoff win.”

The Crusaders stormed out to 28-0 lead by halftime with scores from four different players — Keenan Smith, Vinny DeGeorge, Dylan DeFrank and Mark Rubalcaba.

Quarterback Jacob Deaville tossed two of the touchdowns and finished with 297 yards on 13-for-15 passing. Smith scored three more times in the second half, while DeGeorge caught another long touchdown pass.

DeGeorge caught six passes for 247 yards on the night. Faith Lutheran will host Desert Pines in the second round of the Division 1-A playoffs next week.

“Our offensive line had a phenomenal performance tonight,” Fox added. “I think overall we’re just rolling in a lot of areas. We’re blessed to get wins nine weeks in a row. I’m super happy for these kids. They work hard and deserve it. We’re ready to study the film and refine what we do for next week.”
