1 dead, 2 wounded at Las Vegas apartment complex

A man is dead, two other people are wounded, and Las Vegas police are looking for a silver vehicle seen leaving the area after a shooting in an apartment complex just east of the old Sahara hotel-casino.

Police Lt. Ray Steiber says neighbors reported gunfire about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, and police arrived to find one man dead and another man and a woman wounded inside an apartment in the 2600 block of Sherwood Street.

Steiber says the injured victims were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Steiber says multiple shots were fired from the courtyard into the apartment, and witnesses reported seeing a silver vehicle leave the area.

No names were immediately made public, and Steiber says a motive isn't yet clear.
