A SWAT team and police negotiators are trying to coax a man out of his home after he barricaded himself inside this afternoon.
Metro Police were summoned to the home near Wyoming Avenue and Lamb Boulevard about 3 p.m. in response to a domestic dispute, Lt. John Liberty said. When they arrived, a family had gotten out of the home while a man remained inside.
As of 5:30 p.m., he had refused to come out, Liberty said.
“We tried to contact him multiple ways — through a cellphone and our police PA system,” Liberty said. “We’re still trying to contact him right now.”
Neighbors have been asked to remain inside their homes until the man comes out, and nearby streets have been blocked off while police surround the home.
