When Timothy Bradley walked into the Encore Theater at the Wynn today to weigh-in for his WBO welterweight title fight against Juan Manuel Marquez, virtually everyone in the venue immediately started booing for the champion.

Bradley (30-0, 12 KOs) wasn’t bothered — he motioned with his hands to encourage the pro-Mexican crowd to continue cheering for their countryman Marquez.

“Give me more, give me more,” he told HBO after both fighters made weight. “Everyone doubts me. I love it.”

With the 40-year-old Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KOs) fighting to become the first Mexican to win world title in five different weight divisions, Bradley should expect a similar reception Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center. Officials said earlier this week that about 12,000 tickets have been sold for the arena’s 16,000 seat layout.

Marquez was first on the scales, weighing in light at 144 and 1/2 pounds for the 146 pound fight. Bradley tipped the scales at 146.

Both fighters beat Manny Pacquiao in 2012 and will be the star attractions on a major pay-per-view card for the fight time.
