Public input sought on Family Court hearing master candidates

The Clark County District Court is inviting the public to weigh in on who should take over a hearing master position in Family Court.

The person who is selected will oversee hearings and render opinions on cases that deal with issues such as abuse and neglect, child support, domestic violence and guardianship.

A committee already has reviewed and chosen three finalists for the position: Soonhee A. Bailey, Yolanda M. Carroll and Amy M. Mastin.

Gathering public input is the second step in the hiring process.

Members of the public can weigh in on the candidates by emaling the Eighth Judicial District human resources manager’s office at [email protected] or send feedback via snail mail to 200 Lewis Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89155.

Community members have 10 working days to send their comments before a panel will meet and select the next hearing master.

“Inviting the public to give input into the process is intended to improve transparency and build public trust and confidence,” Clark County District Clourt Chief Judge Jennifer P. Togliatti said in a news release. “The policy also ensures a consistent selection procedure.”
